- Dr Anika NihillGPDr Anika NihillGP
General Practitioner (MBBS, FRACGP)
Hi, my name is Anika and I’m excited to be working with the HealthMint team!
I am originally from Ballarat, in Western Victoria, and did my medical training in Canberra. I have been working as a GP in Gippsland since 2018, and in other medical roles in hospitals around Victoria from 2008.
I love general practice because it allows me to meet a wide variety of people, and to support them to optimise their health and wellbeing over time. I like to take an open-minded and calm approach to problems, and decide on a plan for management together.
I particularly enjoy working with people with chronic conditions to focus of the aspects of their care or conditions that are important to them personally, and to improve these areas as much as possible. My particular interests are in chronic disease conditions, preventative care, wound care, older people’s health, and gastrointestinal health, asthma and respiratory medicine, but of course also general medical care.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking and eating out, reading, knitting, and travel (when we can of course!)
I am very much looking forward to meeting you wherever you are on your healthcare journey.
