Meet your GP colleagues
- Dr Susan WangGPDr Susan WangGP
General Practitioner (MBBS, FRACGP)
Hi, I’m Susan — a GP who believes good healthcare starts with listening.
I take the time to truly get to know my patients — not just their symptoms, but their stories, priorities, and concerns. I bring a curious, thoughtful, and non-judgemental approach to every consultation, and I’m comfortable working with uncertainty and complexity. My aim is to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered in your healthcare.
As a Melbourne local, I completed my medical degree at the University of Adelaide and gained extensive experience in respiratory medicine before moving into general practice.
I enjoy caring for a wide range of health concerns, including:
- Chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease, and chronic kidney disease
- Respiratory and general medical issue
- Gastrointestinal (gut) health
- Women’s health, including Implanon insertion
- Paediatrics
- Travel medicine and pre-travel consultations
- Cancer care and screening
- Skin checks, minor skin procedures, and cryotherapy
I’m passionate about preventive healthcare across all stages of life and take a Health at Every Size (HAES) approach to wellbeing. Alongside my medical training, I’ve completed 200 hours of yoga teacher training, which has shaped my belief in the benefits of yoga, meditation, and mindfulness in supporting mental health and overall wellbeing. Where appropriate, I integrate these approaches into care in a practical and accessible way.
I also have an interest in assessing and supporting patients with suspected ADHD. I work collaboratively with psychiatrists and can prescribe medication following specialist consultation, helping to provide continuity of care.
Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, practicing yoga, and cooking plant-based meals.
I look forward to meeting you and your family and supporting you on your health journey.

These longer, comprehensive consultations allow Dr Somayeh to carefully review the patient’s medical history, symptoms and previous treatments before discussing suitable options for their ongoing care. As an authorised prescriber, she can discuss relevant treatment options within Australian clinical and regulatory guidelines where appropriate.
Committed to continually developing her knowledge and skills, Dr Somayeh has completed additional qualifications and training in:

What do the opportunities for independent GPs at your General Practice look like?
The independent GPs that we support enjoy caring for their patients, as well as being at the forefront of General Practice innovation. We operate quite differently from other medical practices – we don’t have a traditional reception desk, everyone onsite works through tablets and we are almost completely paperless. One of the most exciting aspects of practicing with support from us is the opportunity to be at the very front of this wave of change in healthcare.
If you would be excited to put your medical knowledge, creativity and experience towards creating great experiences for your patients, then this is the opportunity for you!
